Graduates Information

We receive large volumes of enquiries from graduates and we would like to be able to help all of you. We do remember the frustration of trying to get that first foot on the work experience ladder. Unfortunately we only have a small number of suitable positions. The following will be help clarify who we may be able to assist.

Trainee Clinical or Educational Psychologists

Do send through your details. Opportunities will  depend on the employment market at the time of application.   Your post graduate qualification needs at least 1500 hours  (one year) of internship or practicum in a clinical or educational setting.

Masters Degree

Sorry no new graduate positions.

Do send your details if you have a Masters Degree and two or more years work experience in a particular field.

UK Masters in Forensic Psychology

There are no trainee psychologist roles available in New Zealand equivalent to what is needed to start the UK Forensic Charter process. There is a different training system.

Do send your details if you have a UK Forensic Masters Degree plus at least 12 months supervised work experience in a forensic setting.  If you are a Charted Forensic Psychologist then we would be most interested in hearing from you.

Trainee Counselling Psychologists

Send through your details if you have a post graduate qualification (e.g., post Masters Degree) and 1500 hours of internship or practicum.

Bachelors Degree

Sorry no new graduate positions.

Do send your details if you have a bachelors degree and two or more years work experience in a particular field

UK Assistant Psychologists

New Zealand does not offer the UK equivalent of Assistant Psychologist roles.  Sorry we are unable to assist.

New Zealand psychologist registration by supervision:

Recently the supervision 2000 process for obtaining psychologist registration through 1500 hours of supervision was discontinued by the accredited organisation. It is currently not straight forward for those with a masters degree and needing 1500 hours of supervision to obtain psychologist registration. You would either have to complete one of the New Zealand or Australian university courses or another overseas qualification that provides the acceptable internship or practicum.

If you are one of the groups we are able to assist then complete this form.

If you are in the group that we are unable to help at this stage of your career development then do keep us in mind for later. In general a qualification and a minimum of two years practical work experience is best when seeking overseas employment opportunities.
