Programme/Group Facilitators

Key Focus:

Cognitive behavioural group intervention of criminal offending behaviour.

Place of Work:

Prison based special treatment units at various prisons throughout New Zealand. The units will be staffed by teams of psychologists and programme facilitators.    

Key Roles:

  • To facilitate group cognitive behaviour based psychological interventions; consultation to prison and probation staff, and monitoring of integrity of intervention programmes;

  • To provide advice, education and training to Corrections staff and community agencies;

  • To provide specialist consultation and advice to the National Parole Board regarding risk and sentence management.

  • To develop good working relationships with other services, agencies and groups;

  • When required to undertake research in the context of the scientist/practitioner model;

 

Required skills & experience:

  •  Skills in offence focused cognitive behavioural group treatment.

  • Experience working in the criminal justice sector.

Career Path:

  • Salary NZ$34,004 to NZ$63,736
