The Employer: The Community Probation Service works with offenders charged with an offence and given community based sentences. Their job is to make sure these people serve their sentence correctly and help them make positive changes in their lives so they stop offending and start contributing to New Zealand society.  The work is challenging  and requires requires initiative, drive and a passion for making a real difference.

The Role:   As a Probation Officer you will be expected to assess offender behaviour using assessment tools, formulate sound recommendations to assist the judiciary in sentencing, identify appropriate interventions to establish sentence management plans and work closely with targeted offenders.  Knowledge and experience of working in a culturally responsive framework is desirable. Preference will be given to applicants with appropriate experience or relevant qualification

To do this work you will have to demonstrate the following competencies:
