Place of Work:

Successful candidates will work as part of a team including a Neuropsychologist, Clinical Psychologists, Speech Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other rehabilitation staff. 

A significant amount of the role will require travel to see clients in their homes, residential facilities or locations in the community. A drivers license is essential. 

Key Role:

To manage a clinical caseload across both community and residential services, successfully balancing the delivery of clinical best practice to clients with funder requirements and the meeting of performance targets required by the business.

Key tasks include; 

  •  Managing a caseload of clients according to clinical best practice and sound business principles

  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with funders

  • Continuously developing and improving your own skills and those of other team members

  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships within the organisation

  • Observing quality standards and policies

  • Balancing the need for clinical excellence with funder expectations and the practicality of operating a viable business

  • Being flexible via service provision to both residential and community clients

  • Being able to develop and evolve with a growing organisation making its mark in the private health sector

Required skills & experience:

This employer is seeking a psychologist with experience or interest in providing psychological assessment and intervention for adults, adolescents and children who have suffered head and/or spinal injuries. 

  •  Qualification in clinical or rehabilitation psychology.

  • Ability to carry out psychological assessments including psychometric and neuropsychological assessment tools.

  • Ability to formulate, develop and implement psychological interventions.

  • Ability to provide clinical case management based around clinical best practice to clients and meeting the funder requirements, and the performance targets required by the employer.

  • Ability to be goal orientated and outcome focused.

  • Proven self management skills

  • Effective communication skills.

 

New Zealand Psychologist Registration:

Registration or eligibility to be registered under the New Zealand Psychologists Boards clinical or general scope of practice with rehabilitation experience.
