These are new positions that will establish a pilot Primary Mental Health Service that will support the Primary Health Organisations and providers to provide mental health services and early intervention to their enrolled populations.

This service will consist of initially two experienced Mental Health Nurses and one Psychologist based in the Community Mental Health Services but working in the primary sector.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to improve health outcomes for clients who experience mental illness by providing early assessment, intervention, recovery orientated care, strong functional cross-sector relationships with the support of a skilled primary health care team.

Place of Work:

The position is based in a Community Mental Health Service but working in the primary sector in Invercargill and Gore 

Required skills & experience:

•  Qualification in clinical or psychology

• The position is ideally suited to a confident, experienced, results driven clinician who is proficient in evidence based practice.

Professional Requirements:

Registration or eligibility for registration under the New Zealand Psychologists Boards clinical or general scope of practice.

Career Path:

Advancement by yearly increments up a nine level salary scale.

Psychologists can progress to senior and consultant grades (i.e., a separate multi-level merit salary scale).
