Key Role:

To contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team by providing psychological services to clients, their families and consultation to staff.

To contribute to quality improvement initiatives through the provision of professional services to the team/service or division.

 

Place of Work:

The position is based in South Auckland in a multi-disciplinary team in a community based mental health service.

Required skills & experience:

  •  Qualification in clinical psychology.

  • At least two years clinical experience.

  • Ability to carry out psychological  assessments and interventions with children, adolescent and families.

  • Ability to use clinical psychometric and neuropsychological assessment tools.

  • Understanding of clinical case management in a multidisciplinary setting.

  • Ability to be goal orientated and outcome focused.

  • Effective communication skills.

 

Professional  Requirements:

Registration or eligibility for registration the New Zealand Psychologists Boards clinical scope of practice.

Career Path:

Advancement by yearly increment up a nine step salary scale.

Psychologists can enter or progress to senior and consultant grades (i.e., a separate multi-level merit salary scale).

Some take professional advisor roles.
